Diversions into sound: THE REVOLUTION HAS BEEN DIGITIZED

I know you’re probably thinking this is way too “heavy”. Believe me, this was one of those should I or shouldn’t I post’s. I finally decided to go ahead since “Black History Month” has always been about the evaluation of where we’re going, where we’re at and definitely where we’re from. Now what I take from the above document is that within 175yrs, roughly three generations of us growing as a people, we’ve managed to come a long way. We’ve went from not having a voice to quite possibility having the strongest voice in western civilization (Barack Obama). We’ve given birth to such influential genres of music such as jazz, blues, rock n’ roll and of course hip hop, which has grown to become a multi-billion dollar a year corporation. I mean look at the document again and realize we’ve truly come a very long way. And yes I know we still have a lot of ills which need curing in our community’s, that goes without saying. There’s always going to be work that’s needed to be done. I am only here to ask you to put down the out dated beefs, refrain from the childish finger pointing and take a small moment as a family to bask in the greatness of all our truly wonderful accomplishments. For we have indeed come a very long way people.
